P0340 Trouble Code

Recommended Posts

So it's like I fix one thing just for something else to go out. So I have 2000 mazda 626 v6 and I was driving it yesterday and the engine just lost power out of no where and never started again after that it threw out codes p0340 and p0300 I'm trying to figure out is it the camshaft sensor that would go out just like that out of no where? What can I do?

Marcel so if I replace the ignition module it should help?

If, the camshaft sensor is part of the distributor, yes.

I had the same problem, with my mx6. camshaft sensor gone bad. It was very hard to start the engine as a result.

I suspect that the camshaft sensor is a part of the ignition module, just like the one on my mx6.

Nothing to fix, just replacing.

You can see 2 metal contacts (in between you can read J888). one of them produces 1puls per revolution, thats your tdc sensor. The other one produces 6 pulses per revolution, thats your camshaft sensor.

As you can see, nothing mutch to fix on this thing.
