1980 626 Sedan 2.0 Exhaust/extractors

Recommended Posts

Hi, I recently purchased a 1980 Mazda 626 and I've been chasing an exhaust and extractors.
I don't know if I'm just not searching in the right places but I cant find anything and I'm close to just buying the pipe and bends and making it all myself hah.
Can anyone help?

Cheers

Don't look for Mazda headers - look for Ford Courier ones.  At least then you can modify the engine pipe to suit.

These guys are here in sunny Melbourne.

Awesome thanks  , Also is there a way to check if i have round or square port heads using the engine number?

I'm unsure if the HTH054 is like the factory header or actual extractors. I have messaged aN eBay user that stock the item. They cant supply a picture of the item  :(

Unfortunately, you are going to have to release the exhaust manifold and have a squizzy!

The HTH054 and HTH055 are definitely extractors.

I hope you have round ports because I know Hitech sold their last set of HTH055s to another forum member back in 2013.

Fingers crossed they may have made more since then.

Redback also make headers as well - top of page 27.

Let me know if you get stuck finding an exhaust shop over there who sells Redback systems.  Pretty sure I can track a few down here on the mainland for you.

I found some diagrams on the internet of the different headers, and I noticed that the square header port headers go 4 into 1 and the round port goes 4 into 2.

Only noticed it because of the gasket between haha

I remembered that mine was the dual so I have ordered the HTH054s.

I'll buy some pipe and bends to make a complete 2'' system, and I'll post back when I receive the headers and fit them.

Thanks again !
