Hey everyone, I'm Dan and I from Melbourne.. I drive a 1990 Mazda 626 5 Door Hatch.

As you can see from the photo i was involved in an accident last month which involved a truck... ^_^

I was just sitting there waiting to turn and this dude just drove into me from the side...Was fucked up...

I'm not sure if I wanna do this car up or not considering i've clocked up 250,000... According to mechanics and enthusiasts my I've got one of the tightest on the road, so thats good!

Mods so far:

- Same wheels as the s15..

Audio.

- Alpine head unit CDA-9851

- Alpine SPS-690A Type-S 6" x 9" 3-Way Speaker on custom parcel shelf

- Alpine SPS-100A Type-S 4" Coaxial 2-Way Speakers in dash board. Reason for this is because I didnt wanna put pods in the doors as It was a little over my budget at the time.

- Alpine SWS-1242D Type-S 12" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer (4Ohm + 4Ohm)

- Alpine mono box to power sub.

Yeah I like Alpine...lol

Also got top of the line Phillips diamond headlights with blue tinge... Very classy! B)

I'd like to do a few more things to make it really nice but I have no idea where to go to get high performance mods...I'd like to get a good exhaust on it and lower the car...

When the cars at the panel beaters, I'm gonna get them to take the details off the doors as its a bit corny heheheh

Thanx guys! Hope to see u on the road soon!

Dan.

Welcome to the fourms, i wouldnt worry about the engine dieing too soon, mine has practically the same engine and has done 375 and is still going stong, i have been told that thier should be another 200 odd left in her  . I love the sound system ya have, and as fair as performance goes, a CAI is a good start, and a 2.5 inch zorst system for some nice noise, though as u are australia, performance stuff for these cars is hard to come by :(

Anyone recommend any good performance shops in Melbourne?

I'm from melbourne too  85 GC shell with an 87 (built nov 86, bought 87) interior and engine. Currently doing head work- why not port and polish while its out??? hehe

I smashed my 87 into a truck so then bought an 85 for $250 with a gross interior (red and so so dirty) and screwed engine, but a great body. I changed everything out and installed everything from my smashed one (grey interior). That's why I have head probs now I think, seeing as the engine took a big whack from the truck. When I changed the engine I found that the carby had a piece missing (off the bottom flange, sheared off), so I am guessing I have either cracked the head or twisted it badly.

If you see a silver 626 driving around the eastern suburbs, with doors that are slightly darker than the body and a powdery roof, its me

al

P.S. My sister has a white 1984 GC superdeluxe as well  I told her to buy it... 300000+ and still on the first motor- brilliant! Beats mine hands down, not to mention those dorks in common-whores!
