TOMO RIDES AGAIN!! After a lengthy stay at the mechanic, in which my little car got most of a new engine, Tomo is ready once more to fly through space on a column of fire bearing a wave of Orangeness!!! ...Of course it always did that!

But in all seriousness, here's my new engine block. *sniiiiiiif* It's got that new engine smell... (cell phone cameras suck)

It's a pity there aren't more vintage Japanese car shows in my country... (maybe I should look harder)

You've got yourself a fine fleet of Capellas, sir.

Aside from exterior cosmetics, I think this could also probably help you out, even if it is for the Mazda 626 of the same year.  ( i will happily be corrected by the guys who know their FWD 626s.)

Classic Japan 2018 - not as many this time round. A few very late withdrawals on the morning of the event.

Cheapest RWD Mazda we can still buy here in Oz, although S1 chrome bumper models, in good condition, are now becoming a lot harder to find and more expensive - $2K-3K ish. Some dreamers are now starting to ask $4K-$6K for S2 plastic bumper low spec 3sp auto sedans.....they either get laughed off websites or 626 newbies get totally done buying them!!!:(

Pretty sure we're the last two on the West Coast... we need to meet up at a car show and pretend there's six more of us!

(In all seriousness, they do come up on Craiglist occasionally... like this one, or go here when it disappears... but yeah, in America second gen Capellas are Unicorn horns)

I saw one other car at a show at the Petersen Museum last July. Turns out the owner lives around the block from me, but I haven't seen his car since that day.

There was an Orange hardtop up in Seattle, but I don't know if Dave still owns it.   He had fitted a really nice set of 3 Series BMW leather seats - fitted the car perfectly,

and was looking at upgrading the motorvation, the last time I heard from him.:(

Well, that's what I get for not living in LA. Haven't seen another one ever.

...Planning on going to any shows this year?

Oh that guy! I saw his car on Craigslist a few times a year or two ago. Disappeared it did.

No I think you are thinking of a different car. The one I saw was brown as I recall, and it was mostly stock, and the guy was the original owner.

I'm sure I'll go to some shows, just don't know which ones, or with which cars.
