I have a gorgeous '85 626LX Touring Hatchback and would like to find some spare to have on hand: Electronic Instrument cluster (working or not) Electronic suspension struts and actuators that mount on top of the assemblies Alternative for rear hatch struts or suggestions
One things I've noticed about this car is that I feel every bump and pebble in the road. I did a corner bounce test on the struts and when I push down as hard as I can it goes down with the push, comes up to original position and stops - no bounce at all. I'm under the impression that it should bounce one or two times before settling back. So I'm wondering if maybe it's the struts or something else in the suspension? Maybe it's that round rubber thing on top where the strut attaches under the hood, the strut bearing I think? Mine look pretty dried up and cracked... If I need to compress the springs to get the bearing off, or if I have to replace the struts, would this compressor be big enough for the 626 springs?
I have a 1986 Mazda 626 GT (as the title states), and i was curious about what the different years of 626 changed for the aas struts.. I've found a 1990 Mazda MX-6 (which is the 626 with a different name if i'm not mistaken) that has the aas struts and is located at an auto salvage yard. The engine blew out apparently and i'd like to know if anybody could tell me if those struts would fit into my '86 as the struts are showing their age. Also, if at all possible could somebody explain the differences between the years and if there are any possible modifications i can make to get them to work? I'm bent on keeping my car as stock as possible. If all else fails is it possible or maybe even smarter to get the struts rebuilt? What makes these struts so special and unique and unadaptable to newer struts? Thank you so much!
My struts on my 626 are done for and i was thinking about getting coilovers instead like cheaper ones like bc coilovers or something but i cant find any that will match my car considering its a 1983 parts are scarce. For newer hondas you just type in 1993 honda coilovers and bing you got it. But with the 626 its not like that do you know any coilovers that you know that will fit my 1983 mazda 626 that you could suggest or have tried yourself.
