  1. Can anyone recommend a good cheap (80-150$) aftermarket cold air intake kit for my 2000 Mazda 626 LX V6 Auto? One thatll fit and i wont really have any problems with the MAF or IAT or anything like that? im kind of new to all of this. Also, if i wernt to install it (i would obviously try my self, doesnt seem to hard) how much would it cost to have a mechanic install it? (just a base price?) Thanks!
  2. Help! Not a clue what I'm doing but for the money I thought I'd give it a shot. Here's the deal: aquired an 88 626 non turbo 2.2 standard for free. The owner said a spark plug piece broke off and fell on top of piston #3. Didn't bother to question him, he seemed like he knew what he was talking about and whatever, the car was free. I hauled it away and called around to find a new engine. Found an engine from a scrapyard that's a 1991 626 non turbo 2.2 but it's an automatic. I pulled the engine from the 88, swapped the clutch plate with the flywheel from the automatic and all that jazz, bolt
  3. I haven't owned my 626 for very long, and today I spent some time doing routine maintenance. I had a few things taken apart, and I noticed that the intake hose has an open plastic elbow attached to the underside. It appears that it should have a hose connected to it, but I can't find a hose anywhere that it should match. Does anyone know what it is used for?
  4. After some research on my project, i found the OEM part numbers for the main parts on the air cleaner /intake matching the KL-ZE. I have not seen this info anywhere before, so i thought i could post it up here. The parts come from the european version of the Millenia. Here we call it Xedos, and its made in two versions, the Xedos 6, and Xedos 9. The 6 came with the smaller engine options, one of them beeing the 2.0 V6, named KF. And guess what. Its a miniature KLZE. This is the part print-outs i found on a russian site: The main parts for the intake is: Air hose: KF011-3220A Upper
  5. There is a plug coming out of the air filter box, and I dont know what it is. It looks to be roughly the shape of an O2 sensor. The MAF is past the airbox, so it's not that. The plug in question is sticking out of the side of the air filter box, above (which would be on the "engine" side of) the filter. The plug is threaded in, and there is a wire coming from it. I can take a picture if that would help. What is it? Thanks guys.
  6. So the intake boot the connects the front air scoop/air funnel to the FRONT of the air cleaner box (so I'm NOT talking about the curved rubber boot that connects the REAR of the air cleaner box to the throttle body) is starting to show some cracking in between the rubber flex-rings. It has not yet cracked all the way through but it is on its way. It is about 10-15cm (4-6") long and about 10cm. (4in) in diameter at each end. It does not bend (it is able to flex. But the shape, at rest, is not bent) and the openings on each side are, if not exactly the same, at least very nearly so. So I've cal
