  1. transmission strength and layout is first problem (1 wheel pulling) but other than that you could easily use 310 from 88-89 gd computer chipped from gd and of course stock manifold with adapter. if you get that squared away your good to go
  2. my first swap was a 2.2 and i did it in a couple of days in the blind (no direction). i used everything from my car including the harness. make sure you use all the sensors off your motor(most are the same). all the extra stuff the 2.2 has wont matter. i even ran all the 2.0 accessories(maybe not the best idea). i can walk you through it if need be
  3. i just stumbled across this site and read the gc bodystyling thread. did not think anyone was interested so i dropped it. man that brings back some memories.
  4. my god dude keep the inspiration coming and the hard work going. i just started working on mine again and now i have something to keep me motivated.
  5. you mean fe3. you should go to mx6.com and look at the specs they have in project section.
  6. what is the reasoning for wanting to change it anyways. if it is for performance i would worry about that later.
  7. its not as much a lot of modifications as is small time consuming ones. you'll need to figure out which acc. package you want to use (alt, ac, ps). you will have grind a plate or lose a bolt on the timing cover. you will need to use the flywheel that came with the car. just alot of small things

    Is It The Same

what kind of 626 do you have exactly
  9. you need to find out exactly whats missings off of the 87. the cams are probably different but workable. i would go with the 87 all the wayt. BOOST ON

    Boost Cut ??

the fuel cut defender is not going to be any safer than what i recomended. you will still need to tune it and you still take the risk of the boost spiking and bye bye engine. there is a reason that there is fuel cut and without taking the proper precautions you will learn fast.
  11. absolutely not. all you need is the engine and your off. i kept my original harness and everything.

    Boost Cut ??

there is a way but you have to tune it so that you don't blow your engine. the flapper door in your vaf is what triggers your fuel cut. you have to reclock it and no fuel cut. but trust me it is dangerous if you over boost.
  14. worth the effort and very cheap. my swap ran me $85.00 total for my 2.2l na
  15. i can't use cam bolts or the top of the tire will rub. you have to take in consideration that i have the entire suspension from the gt. it is wider so when i bolted the struts up i had to lean them in, but i am going to make adjustable lower arms for the back.
