  1. Hi All. I'm in the process of building a disc brake diff for my '82 626 coupe. I'm using a RX7 series 2 diff housing. I've been looking high & low for a LSD centre with no luck so far. Does anyone have one or know where I can get one? Or should I be using something else like a hilux or hiace diff?

  3. It's been a big few weeks for the 626. It went off to the auto electrician to have the electrical gremlins sort & I got the Dellorto's re-jetted & tuned as well as the timing done. It made a whopping 84hp and the wheels (up from 73)! If nothing else, it sounds good. The FE turbo motor has been back from the engine builder for a while now but progress is slow. I'm mucking around with the injection at the moment, actually trying to sort out the injectors. I'm hoping it'll be ready in a month or so to be fitted.
  4. Hi Team. Does anyone have a digital clock out of a 1981 626 two door they'd like to part with? Cheers.
  5. Noice!
  6. The plan is to build a stroked, intercooled, FE-t, SOHC engine & fit it into the 626 coupe. Why? I know there's better options but I want to keep the cost down, keep it reasonably low tech & stick with a piston Mazda donk. So, where I'm up to... I've got one turbo FE in the 929, another one on the engine stand & a FE n/a Cosmo the multipoint injection. I've picked up Garrett T25 turbo off an SR20, an aftermarket exhaust manifold & a Microtech LT8 ecu. The first step in the process is to whip the standard motor & gearbox out of the 929 & fit it to another 626 I have to iron out the bugs, then fit the rebuild motor (with multipoint injection & the T25 turbo) to the coupe. I've been mucking around with the multipoint injection. I've found that the head one Cosmo is way different to the turbo motor, the Cosmo inlet ports are much larger, in a different position & at a different angle. Is there anyone who's had experience with these motors? Any info would be great. I'm currently trying to find some info on the injectors (195500-1010 green tops). I believe the injectors from a S2 RX7 turbo is a good upgrade....? The next thing on the shopping list is a F2 crank for the rebuild. I'll keep you posted!
  7. Hi All. It's been a while since my last post. The 626 is going great, although there are still some electrical gremlins, all of the dash warning lights are on all of the time & it won't charge the battery. The 626 now has some friends, an '85 B2000 & an '86 929 turbo hardtop. Both are totally original, the B2000 still has the AM radio. I know these aren't 626's but the B2000 has a MA engine & the 929's FE-t motor is destined for my 626.
  8. V8!
  9. Hi All . I'm chasing cheap a series 2 rear wheel drive 626 in SE Qld. I want something I can test fit an engine/gearbox in before I start working on my two door. The condition doesn't matter. Cheers. Scott.
  10. Here's some DIY coilovers I made for my VC HDT. I got all the bits from a local suspension shop.
  11. Hey mate. Long time no talk! I'm still looking at different engines for the coupe. One option I've been looking at is the MX5 engine & I see you're doing the same. I see your last post about it was only last month but I'm just wondering if you move forward with any yet?
  12. Awesome!
  13. Low res!
  14. I'll have to get something organised. On the matter of power steering, the guy I bought mine from reckons he bought one new in New Zealand That was fully optioned with electric windows & power steering. I've had some Kiwi friends looking around & I've been trawling thru Trade Me NZ but have found anything yet. I would mind p/s, with the wide tyres it's a bit heavy in the steering.
