  1. tried jumping and looking for the button. Can't find the button at all. Could you maybe take a picture of yours so I can get an idea of what I need to look for? Jumping doesn't do anything it acts like it doesn't get gas.
  2. Also if I hold the key into the start position the car continues to sluggishly try to start. Battery is at 12.56 volts after I recharged it. Starter is getting voltage, battery drops down to around 10-9 volts during start attempt.
  3. The engine is rotating, but it is not getting spark. You hear the engine trying to start, but it just kinda makes a sluggish noise like a car starved for gas. I do have a factory alarm, i noticed on the dash the icon you were describing. Would that prevent the spark plugs from recieving spark?
  4. Well the car officially isn't getting spark to the spark plugs. We pulled a plug and nothing, no sparking and car is not turning over. How owuld I find out if I have an immobiliiser? its a 2001 v6 6262 2.5l
  5. I'm trying to figure out what the three booted relays are. the three that are outside fo the fuse box. not the ones in the box. i have the diagram for those but the ones that arent in the box are the ones i am having a hard time figuring out.
  6. i AM NOT SURE WHERE TO FIND THE STARTER RELAY AT. i'VE LOOKED AT THE FUSE PANEL AND THERE ISN'T ANYTHING FOR STARTER RELAY. AND I HAVE THREE RUBBER BOOTED RELAYS IN FRONT OF FUSE BOX WITH NO WAY TO IDENTIFY THEM. IVE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR A DIAGRAM TO SHOW ME AN EXAMPLE BUT HAVENT FOUND ONE YET. MY HANES DIDNT TELL ME ANYTHING
  7. i JUST ENDED UP BUYING A NEW STARTER, BUT NOW WITH A BRAND SPANKING NEW STARTER i HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM.....................i HERE THE MOTOR CLICK BUT IT DOESN'T WANT TO START. eVER FOUR COMPRESSES ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL THE CAR WILL START SO WHAT COULD THIS BE?
  8. TESTED THE STARTER WIRES TODAY, THE STARTER IS REMOVED SO WAS A LITTLE CONFUSING TO TRY BUT WHAT I FOUND WAS WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED TO ON IT WAS PULLING 6.83 FAIRLY STEADILY DIPPED DOWN TO 6.03 BUT COULD HAVE BEEN BECAUSE OF A BAD CONNECTION. iS THAT NORMAL?
  9. AT RESTING THE BATTERY IS 11.63 TODAY, M,Y DAUGHTER KINDLY TOLD ME THAT MY DOOR WAS LEFT OPEN AND LIGHTS ON BY MY YOUNGEST SO THIS IS AFTER THE BATTERY HAS BEEN DRAINED A LITTLE BIT. NEITHER OF US TURN THE MUSIC UP VERY LOUD, HE LISTENS TO TALKSHOWS AND NEWS ALL DAY AND THERE IS ONLY SO LOUD YOU CAN LISTEN TO IT. i HAVENT DRIVEN THE CAR IN MONTHS SO NOT AN OPTION WITH ME EITHER. i'LL CHECK THE ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE AND REPOST. THANKS FOR THE INFO ON THE FAN i'D RATHER BE SAFE THEN SORRY AT THIS POINT. i HAVE TAKEN THE DASHBOARD FROM THE DRIVER SIDE OUT AND NOW I AM TESTING THE IGNITION SWITCH. i'
  10. one more thing i just thought of, my ac and heat will only work when turned to 4 which is max for my vehicle. Could this indicate another underlying problem?
  11. I cant figure out what is going on w/my husbands car. It has had 3 new starter solenoids put in and three taken out. Working on the fourth now. I need some ideas on what could be causing the starters to burn out. I have replace a slew of parts already and dont want to dump more then a grand on repairing this car. Here is a list of everything I have replace: -Starter/solenoid x3 -battery -battery cables -fuses -spark plugs -spark plug wires -clutch sensor switch I read on another thread that a bad flywheel could potentially cause this but how would l test that theory? I can post a vide
  12. I do remember my husband having to manually pop the clutch when it broke down on the side of the freeway. The starter did just burn out again. I took it to the shop and it would start and then stop like it hit a brick wall.I'm going to remove some wiring that I have found for undercarriage lights that I have no use for. I'm also going to shcek all the grounds make sure that all connections are clean and clean the battery cables and connectors. I'm beyond frusterated with this darn car.
  13. I took the new starter out of the car today and tested it outside of the car. The starter isnt engaging fully. So I am going to swap it out yet again, but my question now is this. What could cause 3 starters to go out? I am still looking at the ignition switch as a potential for replacement. but at 115 a piece I wanna make sure I am right. I checked the battery and cables and actually swapped the battery out with a brand new one to make sure that it wasnt the battery and still nothing. Can someone give me a couple ideas to try out?
