Hi, everybody and thanks in advance. i have a 1999 626lx 2.0 mazda with over 220000 mile on it. just got the car back from my mother because she bought a newer car. in the moring when i start the car it jumps when shifting to reverse and then jumps when shifting to drive. ive read different things that it could be the transmission mounts. again thanks

Cheapest things to do in order.
1. Reset the ECU by disconnecting positive battery terminal and opening door or pressing brake pedal for a couple minutes to drain the power from the car.
2. Replace the transaxle range switch
3. Replace the throttle position sensor
3. Get an automatic transmission fluid change.
4. Replace it.

There's really not that much you or even a professional can do to troubleshoot the automatic transmission. You can only hope an ECU reset, range switch, or throttle position sensor will fix it.
