So I just bought a 93 mazda 626 and Im not very mechanically inclined. When I'm driving down the road if I accelerate to fast the car jerks to one side, than when I brake it jerks to the other side. Could this be the control arms? or some other problem? Thanks

The pull to one side when accelerating is most likely torque steer or wheel balance, and the pull to one side when braking is probably because you need a wheel balance or you brakes need to be looked at / balanced.

Acutally, it's more than likely a control arm bushing. It's possible it's a ball joint or outer tie rod end.

Also, double check that both front calipers are in good working condition. After you drive it for a while, feel to see if one wheel up front is hotter than the other.
